The Rose Cut Diamond is one of the oldest diamonds, dating back to the 16th century. This style of diamond originated in Old Europe and was used as one of the first diamond cutting techniques.
The Rose Cut Diamond is unique in it's form, in that it has a flat bottom and a domed top. The dome is cut into 24 facets which resemble a spiral of rose petals. Because of it's unique cutting technique, a rose cut diamond diffuses light in a subtle, softer manner than the bright light of a traditional diamond.
Today, rose cut diamonds are considered valuable and rare. Approximately only 0.1% of all diamonds are rose cut. It is a vintage style that has made a comeback in the modern day. PinkDish has placed these antique rose cuts in pure 14K Rose Gold to create the perfect blend of a modern day feel with a vintage look.
